ABOUT
We are a family-run design and woodworking studio based in the highlands of Panamá. As a creative duo raising our children alongside our work, our studio is deeply personal and shaped by the values we live every day: craftsmanship, simplicity, connection to nature, and intentional living. Since 2016, we have been creating heirloom furniture that blends mid-century modern influences with the warmth and character of a variety of tropical woods.
Our work is guided by a shared appreciation for thoughtful design, honest materials, and the beauty found in well-made objects that are built to last. Inspired by Panamá’s biodiversity and the experiences that have shaped our lives, we create furniture with clean lines, refined proportions, and rich textures designed to bring harmony into everyday spaces.

Jina Peña, a licensed architect and designer, leads the creative vision and design direction of the studio. Her work is deeply influenced by architecture, spatial design, and the belief that furniture should create a sense of balance and connection within a home. Drawing inspiration from her roots in the Azuero Peninsula and years of travel, Jina approaches each piece with a strong focus on proportion, functionality, and timeless aesthetics. Her designs are recognized for their clean lines, subtle curves, and thoughtful restraint, allowing the beauty, texture, and individuality of the wood to remain central to each piece. Through her architectural perspective, she creates furniture that feels both refined and deeply connected to everyday living.
Derek Urey, a self-taught craftsman originally from Ohio, brings each design to life through meticulous woodworking and construction. With a previous career as a Director of Photography in the film and television industry, Derek developed a strong eye for composition, continuity, symmetry, and detail, qualities that now define his approach to furniture making. Combining traditional woodworking techniques with contemporary construction methods, he builds each piece with precision, integrity, and longevity in mind.

As a small family studio, we personally oversee every stage of the process, from sourcing and milling locally fallen trees to designing, building, and finishing each piece by hand. Maintaining this direct involvement allows us to uphold the highest level of quality and attention to detail while staying closely connected to the materials and the work itself.
Sustainability remains central to our process. Much of our wood is sourced from locally fallen trees that we personally collect, mill, and dry, ensuring a meaningful connection to the origin and character of each material we use. Every piece created in our studio reflects our values, our respect for nature, and our commitment to craftsmanship made to last for generations.
We believe furniture should tell a story, create connection, and become part of the lives and spaces it inhabits. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our work and the values behind it. We are always happy to connect, collaborate, and help bring meaningful pieces into your home or project.
