ABOUT
We are a creative couple based in the land of eternal summer, Panamá. In 2016 we chose woodworking as our art medium to create functional pieces using a universally beautiful material, wood. We foster the realization of space design by offering a variety of furniture with rich textures, inspired by life in the highlands of Panama.
The time we spend outdoors strongly influences our work, we deeply admire the nature around us and believe in the importance of biodiversity. That is why we are committed to creating furniture using sustainable sources by collecting and drying our own wood from locally fallen trees. Knowing the origin of our raw material is a fundamental part of our work. Our studio work maintains our personal esthetic, passion, and values.
Our mission as a family is designing and building heirloom furniture that blends craftsmanship with mid-century modern design, guided by our deep respect for material selection, nature, and the process. Through our studio furniture and workshops, we share our craft.

Jina Peña | Designer
Born with a creative spirit, Jina has a passion and an eye for design. She started to design furniture while studying architecture in Panama City, Panama. Shortly after getting her license as an Architect, she started to implement some of her furniture ideas in home construction. The rich history and traditions of her home peninsula, Azuero, and her life experiences through travel have strongly influenced her vision. In a world full of excess Jina chooses to practice "the art of less" making it a part of her daily life and work. She believes minimalism can help bring more simplicity and clarity to our lives. Intentionally promoting the things we most value and removing distractions. Her design esthetic is based on clean lines and subtle curves that give way to the more important elements such as the beauty of the material and the functionality of the piece. It's these aspects that truly allow the wood to speak for itself. The end result is a timeless design that creates a harmonious experience.
Derek Urey | Craftsman
Originally from Ohio, USA Derek is a self-taught Craftsman and Father. Derek worked for years in the film and tv industry as a Director of Photography before moving to Panama where he took his hobby of woodworking full time. Derek has an incredible eye for detail in everything he is working on. With his visual background in cinematography, Derek combines his eye for composition, continuity, and symmetry to bring out the harmony of colors and lines that working with such a natural medium like wood allows him to do. As an avid outdoorsman, Derek has always been drawn to nature to find peace and connection with his surroundings. Having that affinity for the world around him has led him on a journey of exploring a real technical aspect and understanding of wood as a medium and how it incorporates and enriches our everyday lives. With a focus on contemporary and mid-century modern construction, Derek uses a mixture of power tools and traditional hand tools to bring his furniture together. Using the highest quality construction standards and techniques ensures each piece will last a lifetime.
